producer and dj, richy pitch moved from uk to ghana, west africa and took on the challenge to record an lp which drew on his many musical experiences during his stay. his goal was to record with local stars and talent and fuse the classic sound of ghanaian music with his own production skills that he had already developed in london. two years later and back to london, richy knocked on bbe records door to deliver ye fre mi richy pitch. starting the year off with this cracking deep ep by our new guys on dirt crew, the runners ! after their extremely succesfull first 12 inch in the beginning of last year which featured the stunning jay shepheard remix they are ready to deliver the next dose of classic house grooves that range from deep house to the more techy edges of electronic dance music. the four originals on this ep alone stand out and keep dirt crew recordings headed towards the future of true deepnes. but as we are real purveyors of soulfull rolling beats we had to add once more one of our favourite producers in the scene to do a remix, this time its our friend from barcelona soul minority who has gained great respect with his cool deep house records over the past years, especially his latest releases on pack up and dance were amongst our most played tracks last year. so here you have it! a great start and there is more coolnes to follow this year! stay tuned and stay deep!

minor love features 14 brand new tracks from americas number 1 greatest singer!. minor love found green enlisting the talents of rodrigo from little joy and other hanger ons, like his brother joel (and look a likes joe steinbrick and greg from megapuss). the album showcases a tender side of the often arrogant and emotionally unavailable bully / singer, green. in a total state of isolation, green attempted to play nearly all the instruments on the record, due to incurable social phobias which plagued him. apparently the inspiration for this album lies in greens fatalism - you might want to take that with a pinch of salt though!

is time for a brasilian-german-canadian connection through this new defrag// release. robert babicz and pan/tone at the control remixing gui boratto and delivering two finest gems. babicz show his skills with an elegant andpowerful tune - driving and hypnotic with that super fat sound that only robert have. on the other side we proudly welcome our friend pan/tone on board, his debut for us is a percussive and sofisticated tune with an old schoolappeal. more will come soon from this man on defrag//, stay tuned.

2009 was a great year for these days records, and 2010 promises to be even better. the platform stood out for its innovative yet functional club sound and unique artwork concepts. the new year begins with a new split series under the name universal consciousness, based on the idea of connection between all things, and that all things have been coordinated, and they combine to make up the same universe. the first part is dedicated to two very different takes on spiritual, cosmic space techno. on the a-side argys >sometimes im blind< generates a long and uplifting emotional climax, which features a solo that will forever stay in your heart. the track was recorded at the end of 2008, and despite numerous offers to release the record elsewhere, nothing was finalised and the recording never saw the light of day. soon after the birth of his own label, it naturally fit the platform and seemed a perfect way to start the new year. on the flip side, sheffield born alexander ross, brings forth a cavernous techno piece awash with reverberation and spacial echos that brings a driving yet non the less emotionally captivating moment perfectly in balance with the depth of the a-side.

the man behind golden bug was partly educated by victor, a japanese robot from osaka. victor was invented by komba, an old japanese man who wanted a child. he created victor. when the old man died he sent victor around the world telling him to find a new home. after a big odyssey victor finally arrived at legendary la maison du robot in paris. the shop was owned by antoines mother who was the first one to import japanese toys to europe in the 70ies.so victor came to antoines family and decided to stay for a while. and as antoines mother was very busy with the other toys - victor practically was the one to teach antoine how to eat, how to speak and how to dance...

you may not have heard so much from andre (aka &me) so far. instead of the flash and glitter associated with most of his producer colleagues, hes preferred to stay in the shadows, co-producing and ghost writing for artists like dj hell and terranova. now after putting out his first solo single on keinemusik, which was supported by all the key players (front room label boss jesse rose, luke solomon, gabriel ananda, danny tenaglia and dubfire plus many more) &me is finally ready to go public as they say. he may have taken some time to figure out his own style of blending techno and house music but now hes out theres really no escape. with a name like an attention deficit childs mantra its a wonder he stayed in so long. the on ep is an excursion into the type of techno dusted pulsating minimal house that has been so big for artists like luciano esse and arnaud le texier and which is heard on heavy rotation in berlin meccas like bar25. with a side on ever present digital squelches (reminiscent of a rolf harrris style wobble board) are laid over shakers, stripped-back beat and the familiar on vocal. its not hard to understand why tiefschwarz have been rinsing it for quite some time now as a huge afterhours groover. b side talking days, swimming in lush deep techno elements, weaves through more melodic territory but is no less infectious

synth mistress lakaband launches her label mekalaka with the electronic goodness of >i have to dance<. after years spent honing her craft at her base in east london surrounded by analogue gear lakaband is now ready to deliver her own unique take on electronic dance. starting things in fine style, the title track blends raw drum machine rhythms with bubbling 303, off kilter synths and understated vocals to create a paean to the call to dance. on remix duties is elusive dissident recording artist gweilo, turning in a pulsing, synthetic disco dub. rolling bassline and a tough linn drum groove underpin the chopped up fx drenched vocals. with plenty of future releases lined up there is much, much more to come from lakaband. stay tuned

b: rollz - solid state: a new face at the formation records camp, rollz s debut track was hand picked by dj ss as a must for the album project. this track kicks off with a dark and eerie feel, building slowly to the chime of bells and echoing bass before dropping with intense punch that will take your breath away.
c: influx uk - stay on this channel: after a recent break from production influx uk returns on top form bringing with him the third track of the two-part release. stay on this channel has all the feel of previous influx smashers, a slow rhythmic snare guides the track as it builds with a jagged edge before dropping with shaking fluid samples and an earth moving bassline
d: generator & dj ss - killa: this track delivers exactly as its name promises. a melodic wobbling chord builds gradually to the sounds of a distant vocal sample, and intense climbing bass, which all combine and drop with sheer vengeance. expect to slay the masses when this tune is pulled out of the bag.
